At Pivot of Grace, we are committed to uplifting Uganda’s underserved communities through sustainable development and practical skills. Our mission is to drive meaningful change by addressing key areas like education, entrepreneurship, sanitation, and access to clean water. By partnering with local communities, we provide opportunities that empower individuals to lead self-sufficient lives.
PIVOT OF GRACE OUTREACH (POGO) is a dynamic youth founded and youth led grassroots non-partisan and non-profit Organization in Uganda. POGO was founded in 2011 and is a locally registered community based non- profit organization with registration number 3563.
Pivot of grace aims to spearhead & facilitate a transition of young people from societal challenges they face to an emphasis on the opportunities that exist to help them reach a better quality of life in Uganda. The Pivot of grace outreach encourages and strengthens collective social, economic, cultural, and environmental, peace and technological initiatives developed by youth themselves.
We strive and endeavor to remove obstacles to youth empowerment so that they are able to exploit their natural abilities in order to realize their lifetime dreams. Our services are supported through various mechanisms including funding from development partners, partnerships with other development and capacity building partners, community engagement and donations.
Our programs and interventions focus on holistic youth development (youth in totality) Our aim is to nurture, empower & develop a complete youth” Target Group - In & out of School Youth: Ages 02 to 39 years.
We promote, facilitate and ensure Positive Youth Development (PYD) approach. This is an intentional, pro social approach that engages youth within their communities, schools, organizations, peer groups, and families in a manner that is productive and constructive; recognizes, utilizes, and enhances young people’s strengths; and promotes positive outcomes for young people by providing opportunities and youth appropriate platforms, fostering positive relationships, and furnishing the support needed to build on their natural abilities and life aspirations.
Therefore, our youth interventions are delivered through youth appropriate mechanisms including peer groups, training, youth councils, community dialogues, school, sports, life skills camps, youth innovation hubs, vocational centers and mentorship programs.
Part of The pivot of grace outreach programs is a youth Innovation Center that was established to empower young vulnerable boys and girls both in and out school to access and utilize IT to realize their potential through creating access to Computer and other IT services through computer skills training, free internet services every Friday and Saturday, graphic design, film and photography and access to a digital library.
The initiative has enabled different youth learning different skills for example those in tailoring classes to access new designs and those in employment skills to use social media to market crafts and art pieces for their small micro enterprises. We operate integrated youth development initiatives but we put a lot of focus on ICT and Innovation.
Our programs go beyond temporary aid. Whether it’s our hands-on vocational training or our community-driven water projects, Pivot of Grace focuses on equipping individuals with the tools and knowledge to thrive. We believe that innovation is the key to creating a better future for Uganda’s most vulnerable populations.
